People can now directly lodge graft complaints

NAB chief directs all regional bureau heads to hear public complaints on last Thursday of every month

In a bid to reach more people, and thus complainants, the apex anti-corruption watchdog has decided to open its doors to the public to report corrupt practices.

According to a statement issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday, people can now directly lodge corruption-related complaints with the body at its headquarters or at its regional bureaus throughout the country on the last Thursday of every month between 2pm and 4pm.

This decision was made by NAB Chairman Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal as he completed two months of assuming his responsibilities as NAB chief.

The NAB chief already holds a public hearing on the last Thursday of the month.

Responding to the feedback received through letters and calls during the public hearings, Justice Iqbal directed director generals of all the regional bureaus to hear public complaints of corruption at their respective bureaus on the last Thursday of every month so that complaints which fall under their jurisdiction could be addressed as per law.

The NAB chief once again reiterated his firm resolve to open NAB’s door to the public in order to address their complaints related to corruption throughout the country and has directed all regional bureaus to follow suit.
