Rescue workers and Law Enforcement Agencies reaches the spot and shifts the body and injured to Civil Hospital

QUETTA: Armed men sprayed bullets on two Balochistan Constabulary (BC)’s RRG personnel on Sariab flyover killing one injuring other on Saturday morning.

BC man Muhammad Alam and Shah Nazar were on-way to their duties when armed men opened firing on them at Sariab flyover and whisked-away.

“As result of firing one BC’s Rapid Response Group personnel Muhammad Alam was killed on the spot and Nazar Shah sustained injuries.” Police said.

Rescue workers and heavy Contingent of Law Enforcement Agencies reached the spot and shifted the body and injured to Civil Hospital for autopsy.

“Muhammad Alam received bullets on his head and chest that causes his instant death and the injured Shah Nazar being treated.” Doctors added.

So far no group claimed responsibility of the attack but last year terrorists group carried out fatal attacks including suicide bombings and target killings of Security forces and left dozens killed including high rank police officers.

“We have cordoned-off the area and hunt for the attackers are underway, Police investigation teams have seized 15 rounds of 9mm and machine gun from the spot.” SSP City Abdulla Jan Afridi said and added security measures across Quetta city has been beefed up.

Inspector General Police (IGP) Balochistan Muzam Ja Ansari condemned the killing of police official and stated protecting the lives of the people will not leave any difficulty, our officials are sacrificing their lives ensuring peace restoration.
