The varsity announced on Friday that the Masters in Science-level programme hopes to meet the requirements of the electronic media industry in the country.
The programme first started in 2015 by the university’s Mass Communication Department on special instructions of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shahid Siddiqui.
Compared to regular distance learning programme, the varsity offers face-to-face, on-campus classes five days a week to students so that they can learn about the latest technology being used in news, drama and film production.
Initially introduced for students of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the programme will be gradually extended to other cities of the country.
“We included the latest system and technology with professionally equipped studios for conducting television production classes, engaging professionally and academically renowned faculty members,” said an official of AIOU’s Mass Communication Department.
