ALABAMA: Germany’s Sandra Gal birdied five of the final eight holes for a five-under 67 and a one-stroke lead after the second round at the Avnet LPGA Classic. Gal reached a seven-under total of 137, one shot clear of Amy Yang at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Magnolia Grove complex.

Gal is in the middle of one of the best runs of her career after winning the Kia Classic last month for her maiden USLPGA Tour victory. “Obviously, I’m playing well,” said Gal. “I’m just enjoying myself out there. I mean, I’m not doing anything really different. I’ve been playing solid since the end of last year.”
