Adding to political instability

Fourteen members from the assembly have moved a no-trust motion against Balochistan’s CM Nawab Sanaullah Zehri

QUETTA: Balochistan, a province with perhaps the most volatile political and law and order situation in the country, is now caught in another confrontation of political parties which formed a coalition government in the province. Fourteen members from the assembly have moved a no-trust motion against Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, on the basis of what they claim he is not keeping up with the conditions of the coalition arrangement with other political parties.

A no-trust motion only months before the next general elections will only worsen the situation of a province which has a long history of instability owing to internal and external factors. Considering that the move is the result of friction among the provincial groupings, it can and should be easily resolved through dialogue instead of adding to the political instability of the province.
