US President Donald Trump subjected Islamabad to stern criticism on Monday, saying the country had given nothing but "lies and deceit" to Washington in return for billions of dollars.
He also once again accused the country of providing safe havens to terrorists, a charge Pakistan has vehemently denied.
"We don't want to pull a fight with any country," Shehbaz told reporters at a ceremony held in Lahore in connection with the Safe City project on Thursday. "Waving goodbye to such an aid will save us from being shamed."

The chief minister stressed that the nation who lives with dignity and integrity lives on. "There's no respect in living while carrying a begging bowl," he remarked.
He went on to say that it is better for a nation to die than to live with such disrespect.
"US President [Donald Trump] lashed out at Pakistan in his tweet," Shehbaz said, adding that it was up to those at the helm of affairs to not ask for something which allows someone to point fingers at Pakistan.
Earlier, in a veiled jibe at political arch-rivals particularly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Punjab CM said: "While the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has earned respect by serving the masses, a politician leading a party remained involved in mudslinging."
"By opposing development projects initiated for the people, such elements will earn anything," he warned.
