Young faces in PSL

Letter January 02, 2018
I wish to congratulate all of these eight players who have secured a spot in the PSL

TURBAT: Recently, a total of eight players were picked by the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises for the purpose of making the selected players a part of the 2018 PSL expansion draft. According to a newspaper report, the first man was Shan Masood who was selected by Multan Sultans as a silver category selection. Karachi Kings picked Mohammad Taha from the emerging category while Mushtaq Ahmed Kalhoro from the talent hunt category. The Lahore Qalandars went for Imran Khan Junior from the silver category and Salman Irshad from the talent hunt category. The Islamabad United signed Rohail Nazir from the emerging category, Quetta Gladiators picked Mohammad Junaid from the talent hunt category and Peshawar Zalmi inducted Khushdil Shah from the emerging category into their squad.

Here it’s important to make it clear that the expansion draft pool was held for those players who were not picked during the main draft, which was held in November last year. In this expansion draft every franchise picked a player each, except Karachi and Lahore who were allowed to pick an extra player as their talent programmes had not concluded when the main draft had taken place.

Being a fan of Pakistani cricket, I wish to congratulate all of these eight players who have secured a spot in the PSL. I am glad to see such young players in the league.
