Hamza Ali Abbasi has always made sure to make his voice heard. Be it his stance on the item numbers in Pakistani film industry, his thoughts on using women sexuality a bait to sell movies or his opinions on Pakistani politics.

The actor has made headlines every now and then for his viewpoints on politics, and it wasn't any different this time.

Hope Karan Johar's views will explain why using women's sex appeal to sell films isn't okay: Hamza Ali Abbasi

Abbasi took to Twitter to share a picture of Hafiz Saeed, chief of Jamaat-ud-Da'wat with cation that received flak from many of the star's followers.

"One of the nicest, most polite people I have met who promotes religious tolerance & humanity," wrote the avid PTI supporter.

"He is also, unfortunately, the most misunderstood man in Pakistan right now," wrote Abbasi.

Abbasi's tweet garnered some criticism from his followers.

One of the Twitter user wrote, "Speechless at your naïveté. He’s one the reasons for the most important foreign policy failure of Pak government. I can’t think of a country that has managed to develop without developing good relations with its neighbours."

Another one shared his two cents and penned, "This is why the International community doesn’t trust us. Unfortunate demise of NAP."

"Stop making it impossible for me to like you," wrote another user.

While some opposed Abbasi's point of view, many came out in support of the actor.

"Hafiz Saeed is a freedom fighter," wrote one user.

Another one supported Abbasi and wrote, "Hamza, you are a gem. Keep nourishing. Hafiz Saeed is the most humanitarian personality of the country who you always try to promote."

"Two true patriotic persons but both are most controversial," said one follower.

However, this is not the first time Abbasi has spoken up about the JuD leader.

Previously, the Mann Mayal star supported Hafiz Saeed when he won quite few seats on local elections.

India blames Lashkar-e-Taiba, which it claims is the militant wing of JuD, for  masterminding the 2008 attacks in Mumbai that killed 166 people. Hafiz Saeed denies involvement in the attacks.

The JuD, who has been designated by the US as a global terrorist, was recently released from house arrest following court orders.
