LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) demanded the transfer of LHC Registrar Syed Khursheed Anwar Rizvi to a regional bench due to his alleged conduct which misled judicial authorities, thus straining ties between the bar and the bench.

The bar leaders asked the LHC Chief Justice to transfer Rizvi from the principal seat to any other regional bench. They stressed he was responsible for strained relations between them after misleading judicial authorities over Multan’s new court complex.

They said Chief Justice of Pakistan Main Saqib Nisar, in suo motu proceedings over the new complex, held Rizvi responsible for the issue. They said Rizvi, being the registrar of the Lahore High Court, tried to create further misunderstandings between the bench and bar associations.

In case of refusal of their request, office bearers warned judicial authorities that they would go on strike and boycott proceedings.
