FAISALABAD: Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has asked residents to take precautionary measures against gastroenteritis during the summer season.

In a statement issued on Friday, a spokesperson of the agency said that bacteria rapidly grows in the beginning of summer and people should take particular precautions by drinking only boiled water.

He said that Wasa was supplying potable drinking water to its consumers after chlorination and that they should make sure to take water from the Wasa supply lines after leaving the tap running for some time.

“People should also avoid using electric motors for sucking water from the Wasa pipelines as it causes mixing of sewage in drinking water,” he said.
