Justin Bieber is not the reason behind Selena Gomez's family issues

Singer Justin Bieber, who has re-entered Selena Gomez's life, is not the reason behind the Bad Liar singer's family issues.

A source said, "Selena has always said that the one person that means the most to her is her mom, Mandy Teefey. But still, they have had a really complicated relationship and have gone through a lot of ups and downs."

There was an "entire year," the source added, that Gomez and her mother didn't speak, after the Wolves singer parted ways with Mandy as her manager in 2014. "It caused a huge rift in their relationship. Mandy wouldn't even let Selena talk to her sister for a long time."

The source also revealed that Mandy and Selena's step-father Brian Teefey did everything they could for her but when the singer fired her mother, it took a toll on her, both emotionally and professionally.

In March 2017, Selena and Mandy walked the red carpet together at the premiere 13 Reasons Why as executive producers.

The source also previously said that Justin has caused a lot of angst to Selena's family and they weren't happy that she was back with the Sorry singer.

As Selena's family continues to resolve their personal matters, another source revealed that it's Justin that she is leaning on. "Selena is dealing with some family issues at the moment and Justin is there for her. He doesn't want to cause any problems between Selena and her mother. They are still together," stated the source.

The two singers confirmed their reconciliation in November this year.
