SUKKUR: The Department of Public Administration, Shah Abdul Latif University (Salu), Khairpur, held a lecture on ‘Development, Governance and Civil Society’ on Friday.

Islamabad’s Akhtar Hameed Trust’s director Fayaz Baqar highlighted the importance of an administrative infrastructure made up of people, professionals and politicians as well as political and social development.

A health structure is also important as lack of pure water leads to waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea and typhoid, he added.
