Hamdard University organises project exhibition, competition

Inter-varsity event participated in by 250 students of various institutions

KARACHI: Hamdard University’s faculty of engineering sciences and technology organised an inter-university competition and exhibition, the Hamdard University Project Exhibition and Competition 2017, on Thursday. More than 250 students of Hamdard University, NED University of Engineering Technology, Usman Institute of Technology, Iqra University, PAF-KIET and Sir Syed University of Engineering Technology presented their projects for the competition in four disciplines of engineering and sciences.

As many as 110 projects were registered for the event out of which 60 were presented for the competition and 50 were presented for the exhibition. Cash prizes of Rs100,000 were awarded to winners in different categories.

The competition provided a platform for students to meet industry professionals and academicians. More than 50 renowned industry professionals were invited to the event and a few of them along with external professors evaluated the students’ projects.

Hamdard University celebrates silver jubilee

A formal interaction of industry professionals with the academicians was held in Hamdard University’s board room. In this session industry professionals showed interest in developing a liaison for future cooperation with Hamdard University in order to fulfill the industry's engineering requirement.

The event culminated with the speeches of Hamdard University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shabibul Hasan, Registrar Prof Dr Valiuddin, chief guest and SysTek Director Navid Ansari and the guest of honour, Irfan Ahmed from The Energy Grid.

Prizes were distributed to the winners and shields to the organisers by the guests. Special mementos were also presented to the guests by the vice-chancellor.

The chief guest ended his speech saying that he looked forward to next year’s event.
