“My family has been affiliated with MQM for the last many years and my mother also lost her life for the party, but unfortunately MQM-P has not lived up to expectations of the Urdu speaking community living in Karachi,” he said.
He further added that he “parted ways with MQM-P soon after former MQM-P leader Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan remarks, but was waiting for an appropriate time to announce it,” he said adding that MQM-P and MQM-London (MQM-L) are "two sides of the same coin."
“MQM-Pakistan is still helping London leadership providing funds and toeing their line. Looking at this, I have decided to quit the party,” he concluded.
Last month, MQM-P Chief Farooq Sattar called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan [ECP] for the removal and disqualification of Arshad Vohra as Deputy Mayor Karachi.

On October 29, the deputy mayor joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party [PSP]. Since then his security protocol and secretarial facilitation were taken away on the orders of Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar.
