Squash: Farhan stunned in semi-final

KARACHI:

Farhan Meboob’s dream of winning the Asian Squash Championship was shattered when he succumbed to his Malaysian counterpart in the semi-final.

Pakistan’s number two, seeded second in the competition, suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of fourth-seed Nafizwan Mohammed Adnan in four sets to bow out of the event. Farhan’s defeat in the semis also ended Pakistan’s run in the tournament with Waqar and Waqas – his two brothers taking part in the tournament – having been knocked out of the event earlier.

The Malaysian secured the first game 11-8 but lost the second 11-9. Adnan won the next two games 11-8 and 11-9 to seal the win in 52 minutes and will now face compatriot Ong Beng Hee in the final.
