Women set ablaze by drunk cop in Sukkur succumb to their wounds

Suspect had set his sister Nausheen and neighbour Arbeli on fire for inviting unwanted guests at his nephew’s wedding

Two women, set ablaze by a policeman under the influence of alcohol in Sukkur last week, succumbed to their wounds during treatment on Tuesday, Express News reported.

The suspect, police constable Mehboob Bhutto, had set his sister Nausheen and a neighbour Arbeli on fire on Friday for inviting unwanted guests at his nephew’s wedding.

The victims were being treated at a private hospital in Karachi.



A case was lodged against the suspect after he was arrested the same day.

Bodies have been handed over to the victims’ relatives after medico-legal formalities.
