Nine lawyers arrested for consuming liquor

Police seized 12 bottles of imported liquor and 120 liters of local liquor

MULTAN: Cantt Police claimed to have arrested nine lawyers on the directives of City Police Officer Multan Sarfraz Ahmad Falki for consuming liquor while celebrating birthday of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

A case has been registered against nine suspects at Cantt police station. The police also seized 12 bottles of imported liquor and 120 liters of local liquor.

An official of Cantt police station said the suspects were celebrating Christmas and birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam when police conducted a raid.

The suspects were identified as Muhammad Wakeel, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Tariq, Danish, Ismaeel Shah, Sarwar, Kamran, Farooq Ali and Sajjad alias Sajju.

Meanwhile, the lawyers, who were arrested with liquor, threatened the police officials of dire consequences if action was taken against them.
