Display of solidarity: Cake cutting ceremonies dot the twin cities
Rawalpindi mayor, CCB Station commander, lawmakers join festivities

The festive occasion of Christmas, while spreading joys for millions has also let loose a spree of official cake cuttings in the federal capital and the garrison city.
There is a rush of important guests for cake cutting ceremonies showing solidarity with the Christian community.
Official cake cuttings
Mayor Rawalpindi Sardar Naseem was at the Rawalpindi Press Club to cut a Christmas Cake as show of solidarity with the Christian people.
Similarly, a cake cutting ceremony was held here at Chaklala Cantonment Board (RCB) on Saturday in connection with Christmas celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion ,Station Commander Brigadier Shahzad Tanvir said they congratulate Christian community and feel pleasure in sharing their joy.
MNA Malik Ibrar Ahmed on the occasion said that that Islam teaches the lesson of peace, friendship and the promotion of inter-faith harmony which is dire need of the hour.
He said the Christian community was an important part of the society and extending significant services in the sectors of education, health and other fields of life.
He also condemned the suicide attack on a church in Quetta. Later gifts were distributed among Christian employees of the CCB.
Federal Minister for Statistics Senator Kamran Michael said the Christian community was playing its due role in national security and development in a befitting manner and enjoying equal rights like all other citizens in the country.
Addressing a cake-cutting ceremony at the residence of Christian leader Sarfaraz Francis, he said the government was striving to safeguard the rights of the Christian community, being enjoying by other communities of the country.
