Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan said in a statement that the PBIT should also organise an interactive conference on the subject “Punjab, Our Pride, Your Potential” to create a healthy and vigorous business atmosphere in the south zone.
He said the PBIT should come forward to apprise the people of remote areas of the services being provided to promote the investment-friendly environment. He also called for addressing concerns of the business community about the investment policies
Awan said people were not aware of the role of the investment board. PBIT Chief Executive Officer Jahanzeb Burana claimed that a transaction department had recently been established at the board to identify the potential investment projects for local investors.
He invited the investors to invest in these projects and take full benefit of the rapidly improving investment climate in Punjab.
The MCCI president said the government should implement policy reforms, provide institutional support, offer incentives and prepare financing modalities to bolster private sector participation in financing, developing and managing the future investment projects.
He emphasised that public-private partnership was essential for long-term economic stability. “It is vital for identifying economic needs of the region and focusing on developing national, provincial and local sector-specific policies,” he said.
