GUJRAT: The main objective of education is to bring about positive change in our thinking. Any effort at purgation or reformation of the society carries no weight if it ignores the important element of self-accountability, said Governor Punjab and Chancellor of University of Gujrat (UoG) Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana.

He was speaking at the UoG’s sixth convocation on Hafiz Hayat Campus. “Freedom of expression is everyone’s basic right but, at the same time, we should be mindful of others’ feelings and try to avoid negative propaganda,” he said.

About 3,600 students from various UoG departments successfully completed their bachelors and masters degrees in 2016. Graduates of Nawaz Sharif Medical College (NSMC-UoG) for MBBS session 2011-16 were awarded their degrees. Gold medals were conferred on 76 position holders by the governor.
