LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar has said he will visit hospitals across Lahore to review healthcare facilities.

According to Express News, the CJP, during an official visit to the Mayo Hospital on Tuesday, spoke to patients about their concerns and visited various wards during the unannounced visit. He also ordered the creation of separate wards for male and female patients.

He said he will personally visit all those places where such a situation arises to ensure people's rights are not violated.

The CJP made the visit after a hearing of a case on the availability of drinking water at the Supreme Court's Lahore Registry.

Justice Nisar was dissatisfied with the response of the Punjab government, and rebuked Chief Secretary Zahid Saeed on the government's lack of response to reports of high levels of arsenic content in the water supply.

He also instructed the chief secretary to take steps to improve healthcare facilities in the province.
