OKARA: The drama co-staged by Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif has come to an end and people must now decide new leaders, chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said here on Sunday.

Speaking at a public gathering managed by PTI’s district organisation, Imran Khan condemned the Quetta church blast saying: “We must pledge to protect all minorities and make them equal citizens to stand by us in our struggle to create a new Pakistan.”

Accusing Nawaz Sharif of illegally sending at least Rs300 billion abroad, he said that he would approach NAB with new evidence against him.

“I want Shehbaz Sharif to lead the PML-N in the next general elections otherwise I have no one to beat in the elections,” said Khan.

Describing Shehbaz Sharif as ‘Drama Sharif’, he said that Shehbaz Sharif had gone with a briefcase to buy the judiciary in Quetta.

Shehbaz Sharif, he said, would also be arrested in Hudabiya case.

According to him, PML-N wanted a subservient judiciary, acceding to all their wishes but this was a different time.

Imran says will keep Tareen ‘right next’ to him despite disqualification

Ridiculing Nawaz Sharif’s assertion regarding initiating a movement against the judiciary, he asked if he had ever started even a single campaign in his entire life.

Sharif, he said, should keep in mind that for 30 years, the same judiciary cooperated with Sharifs.

Terming Nawaz Sharif a coward, he said that such a person was unable to take a stand.

“When Musharraf jailed you, did your party initiate any movement?” said Khan.

According to him, Nawaz Sharif had gone to England for 10 years after signing an agreement backed by Saudi Arabia.

Jackals, he said, did not have the ability to start political campaigns.

Mocking Nawaz Sharif for equating himself with Imran Khan, he said: “Nawaz Sharif, ask the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa if I had set up a single factory or obtained any loan from the Bank of Khyber?”

He said that he could prove that he did not resort to nepotism or favouritism.

Challenging his political rivals, he said that if anyone could prove he had taken money against selection in police, he would quit politics.

“Nawaz Sharif, not everyone is like you. When you first came to power you had just one factory, but you made 30 factories during your various tenures in power, “said Imran Khan.

He said that he had replied to all questions and submitted all required documents in Supreme Court.

“I submitted 60 documents to disprove allegations against me. You gave just one document and that was the letter from Qatar which was a fraud,” he said.

Terming Nawaz Sharif a ‘national culprit’, he said that he had earned abroad for 20 years and brought all his earnings to Pakistan.

Describing Shahid Khaqaan Abbasi as Sharif’s puppet, he said: “When you start a movement, people will ask you why you tried to alter the law on the finality of Prophethood? Who did you want to please?”

He said that after coming into power, PTI would offer loans to other countries and show India how to eradicate poverty.

He said that countries grew powerful on the back of strong institutions and investment in human resources, especially education and health. “Judiciary is strong and the people trust their judiciary.”

He said that Nawaz Sharif was doing everything to save his Rs300 billion shifted abroad via money laundering.

Imran Khan announced his intention to file a case against the owner of Geo News, Mir Shakeelur Rehman.

“After coming into power, PTI will ask you how much tax did you pay? You will also be held accountable,” he said.

Criticising Khwaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif, Rana Sanaullah, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he said they were all involved in corruption and were now standing beside the Sharifs.

Imran Khan said that Sheikh Rasheed had mentioned Jemima Khan, adding that he would advise Rasheed not to recall old matters.

Appreciating Jahangir Khan Tareen, he said that he resigned from his post and did not heckle why he was ousted from his post.

He said Tareen’s services would always be remembered.

Imran Khan also appreciated the services of Saloni Bukhari who passed away a few days ago.

Sheikh Rasheed, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Khan Tareen, Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan, Samsam Ali Bukhari, Masood Shafqat Rubera, Anwar Pasha, Tariq Irshad, Ashraf Khan Sohna and others also addressed the gathering.
