A Suzuki pickup with 11 people on board was getting filled with CNG at the fuel station when it exploded with a big bang, police added.
The pickup was fitted with a locally-welded CNG cylinder which failed to withstand the gas pressure during filling and thus leaked, causing an explosion, sources said.
Four killed in cylinder blast in Lahore
Officials said, seven of the injured were provided first aid at the site by Rescue 1122 officials, whereas four were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for further treatment. Police have cordoned off the area and have started investigation.
Use of CNG cylinders to run vehicles claimed many lives in the past. In 2014 four people were killed while three others sustained burn injuries when the CNG cylinder of a taxi exploded at Pak-Afghan CNG Station on Ring Road on Monday.

The driver had installed a locally made or modified substandard cylinder because such cylinders are cheap, according to Chamkani police. It led to his death along with that of three other passengers.
The official said initially it was mistaken to be a bomb blast but when the bomb disposal squad inspected the site of the explosion they found no evidence of the use of explosives.
