ISLAMABAD: A man whose son was killed during the violence on November 25, following the botched Faizabad operation, has claimed that his son was killed by firing from inside the house of former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan located near Faizabad.

Muhammad Zohaib Zahid was one of the six men killed on November 25 on Murree Road near Faizabad.

Zohaib’s father Zahid Aqeel has lodged a complaint with Rawalpindi police holding Nisar, incumbent Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and several high-ups of Rawalpindi police responsible for his son’s death on November 25.

Aqeel maintains that not only Zohaib, but three other people were also killed by the firing from inside Nisar’s house.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Aqeel said he did not know who fired from inside the house, but it was certain that his son was killed by the fire from the house.

Aqeel said his son was vice-president of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Youth and had gone to Faizabad that day in order to help those injured in the operation. “At 6pm when my son along with my nephew reached near the residence of former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan … heavy firing started from inside the residence. One bullet hit my son in the back and went out of the neck. Second bullet hit him in his right leg while the third bullet in left knee,” the father maintained in his application. Zohaib died on his way to hospital.

The victim’s father maintains that police acted on the directions and consultation of Nisar as well as incumbent interior minister Ahsan Iqbal. He has sought a murder case against the two along with Rawalpindi RPO, CPO and relevant DSP and SHO.

Though Sadiqabad police have received the application, they have not taken any action on it yet.
