Mohmand agency: Security personnel killed in landmine blast

One security official was killed and five others were injured in a land mine blast in Tehsil Safi of Mohmand Agency.

One security personnel was killed and five others sustained injuries in a landmine explosion in Alingar area of Mohmand Agency on Thursday.


Sources said security personnel were setting up a tent when the blast occurred.

The injured were shifted to hospital and are in a stable condition, sources add.

Meanwhile, a rural health centre (RHC) was blown up by insurgents in Dhand Kodakhel area of the agency. Insurgents planted explosives along the boundary wall of the RHC and the blast caused severe damage to the facility, sources said. A local Taliban group claimed responsibility.

In yet another incident, mortar shells were fired upon Behaie camp, targeting govt offices in the Behaie Zai sub-division of Mohmand Agency. Security forces targeted suspected hideouts with heavy artillery fire.
