Chief ECP asked for proof of show-case notice for Vohra, to which Sattar replied that under Sindh Local Government Act, a show-cause notice is not imperative. ECP decided to adjourn the request until December 26 after summoning details from Vohra.
Addressing the media outside ECP, Sattar said, "Arshad Vohra was sworn in as deputy mayor of Karachi on MQM-P's ticket, after which he joined Pakistan Sarzameen Party (PSP), and he has shown no political loyalty to MQM-P."
"We have filed a request in ECP based on Local Government Act 2013, Section 36 to deseat Arshad Vohra. Our stance is that seat of chairman of Union Council should be vacant," Sattar said.
ECP is required to hear both sides of the petition, "today's hearing was adjourned because Vohra's council did not have a copy of the petition filed."
