BISP plans resurvey in Malakand

PESHAWAR: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will soon start resurvey in Malakand division to expand the outreach of the social-security net that offers Rs4,834 per quarter to deserving people registered with the programme, BISP chief Marvi Memon said on Wednesday.

She was in Daragai area of Malakand division to see progress of the Waseela-e-Taleem (WeT) programme.

Memon also held meeting with BISP Beneficiary Committee, read an official statement. There were some 60,000 such committees, each comprising 25 to 30 women, across the country.

During her meeting with the Malakand committee, she stated that BISP was not only contributing in the financial and educational uplift of its beneficiaries but also in nutrition, health and women empowerment.
