ISLAMABAD: A man was shot dead allegedly over a land dispute in the remits of Nilore police on Wednesday.

Police quoting eyewitnesses and local people said according to initial investigation Zafar and Naeem had an old grudge resulting from a dispute over the ownership of a piece of land.

On Wednesday, they came face to face in the Pheonut area of Nilore. The old adversaries exchanged harsh words and suddenly, Zafar stopped talking, whipped out a pistol and started shooting.

Eyewitnesses said that Naeem was dead before he hit the ground. Zafar fled the scene unchallenged waving his pistol in the air, they said.
