Highlighting Indian atrocities in Kashmir

Letter December 14, 2017
The bleeding Kashmir is just as important as the Palestinian issue

RAWALPINDI: Since now the Muslim world is angered by US President Trump’s latest tantrums, it is not focusing on the plight of the Kashmiris suffering under Indian occupation. Last year, the Indian forces fired pellet guns on unarmed protesters, including women and children as little as five to eight-year-old.

A wave of protests erupted when Indian security forces raided a village and killed Burhan Wani, a 22-year-old freedom fighter, whose videos went viral on social media. India slapped sedition charges against scores of people for airing their views on Facebook.

The bleeding Kashmir is just as important as the Palestinian issue. The Foreign Office should raise both the issues at important international forums.
