Security forces foiled on Wednesday a ‘major terror’ bid in Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed.

“Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan averted major terrorism attempt through successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Zhob, it said in a statement.

Six IEDs planted on N-50 national highway near Zhob were traced and neutralised, it added.

Separately, in Sui, FC troops apprehended an illegal arms dealer. Explosives, detonators, weapons and ammunition were recovered from his possession.

Following attacks, law-enforcement agencies have stepped up raids in the violence-stricken province. Operations are also routinely conducted as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
