Doha to host Qatar-Pakistan business investment moot

Qatar Chamber said conference will gather 50 Pakistani businessmen to discuss investment and business opportunities

Doha will be the host of the Qatari-Pakistani Business and Investment Conference’ slated to be held in the first quarter of 2018. Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in a statement.

The Qatar Chamber said the conference will gather some 50 Pakistani businessmen, who will discuss investment and business opportunities between Qatar and Pakistan in different sectors.

Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Towar aI-Kuwari made the announcement during a business meeting with a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by its president Zahid Latif Khan.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and details of the conference. Khan also invited the Qatar Chamber and Qatari businesses to visit Pakistan and participate in the ‘Gwadar Port Conference in March 2018.

Qatari businessmen are keen to discuss the investment opportunities available in Pakistan, al-Kuwari said. The Qatar Chamber welcomes the business conference and looks forward to investment opportunities between Qatar and Pakistan. He noted that food security, industrialisation, pharmaceuticals and agriculture projects will be highlighted during the conference.

The conference is expected to create effective partnerships between the two sides, particularly in light of the incentives provided by the Qatari government to attract foreign investments and facilitate the business environment, al-Kuwari said.

Al-Kuwari said he hopes that the conference “would achieve remarkable successes in the interest of enhancing cooperation between the private sectors of both countries.”

He said the Qatari economic and trade sectors, which were witnessing remarkable movement and development, welcome any investment that can further grow Qatar’s economy.

Khan said the Pakistani private sector “is ready to cooperate” with Qatar “in all areas of investment.”

He called on members of the Qatar Chamber to visit Pakistan and explore the available investment opportunities and to interact with their Pakistani counterparts to enhance cooperation “in all fields of economic development.”
