PEC grants accreditation to UCET 

Mushtaq made efforts and during the last three years all the engineering programmes had been accredited from the PEC

BAHAWALPUR: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has granted accreditation to students of BSc Electronics Engineering sessions 2013 to 2017 and 2014 to 2018 of University College of Engineering and Technology (UCET). An official of Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Shahzad Ahmad said three other engineering programmes of the IUB, including electrical, telecom and computer system were already accredited from the PEC.  The official said that accreditation of University College of Engineering and Technology from the PEC had become a turbulent matter since its startup in 1999. However, Vice-Chancellor Prof Qaiser Mushtaq made efforts and during the last three years all the engineering programmes had been accredited from the PEC, he said.  He maintained the building of civil engineering department was also under construction and classes were expected to start during the new academic year.  Shahzad maintained the engineering college will also start PhD classes from next academic session.
