Obstruction and non-cooperation: Nasir Jamshed banned for one year
Opener is believed to be the main character in PSL2’s spot-fixing scandal

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) anti-corruption tribunal slapped a one-year ban on opener Nasir Jamshed for non-cooperation and obstruction in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal.
The 28-year-old is believed to be the main character of the scandal that rocked Pakistan’s cash-rich T20 league in 2017.
However, the ban will effectively end in February 2018, as the left-handed opener has been provisionally suspended for the past 10 months.
The PCB lawyer, Taffazul Rizvi informed that, “The tribunal was able to prove the charge of failure to cooperate in the investigation whereas the other charge on Jamshed of being obstruction in investigation has not yet been proved.”
“This ban has been imposed on single charge only. There is a narrative being made against PCB that PCB has no proves against Jamshed, but I should inform you that the charges and proofs against Jamshed has not been made public in order to keep investigation in flow and so that Jamshed is not able to put cover on his tracks,” he said.
He further added that Jamshed has field defamation suit against PCB but if he is innocent then why doesn't he or his lawyer come here and tell everyone.
“He should tell everyone why his passport is held by National Crime Agency in London and why is he on bail over there, and why he hasn't filed a defamation suit,” he said.
