Ahmed Barkati: A Renowned author of literature is no more

KARACHI: Renowned author of literature for children and editor of Hamdard Naunihal, Syed Masood Ahmed Barkati passed away at 87, after a prolonged illness.

Barkati used to edit Hamdard Naunihal for the last 40 years. He was considered to be a close aide of Hakim Muhammad Saeed.

He hailed from a learned family of Tonk, India. He was younger brother of renowned scholar, researcher and physician (tabeeb) Hakim Mehmood Ahmed Barkati.

His namaz-e-janaza will be offered today (11 December) after Zohar at 1:30 at Masjid Falah, Naseerabad, Block-14, FB Area, Karachi.

    RIP dear teacher, I learned humanity and peace for mankind from Naunehal that he made sure was a pleasure to read and treasure of information.
    People like him are our true heroes and our misfortune they always go unsung. Recommend
