Indo-Pak Relations: Dialogue on recent developments starts today

Delegation comprising senior Indian diplomats, legislators, media persons and academics to attend Islamabad Dialogue.

ISLAMABAD:

A delegation comprising senior Indian diplomats, legislators, media persons and academics will attend the “Islamabad Dialogue”, a two-day conference to begin on Thursday.

The conference is being organised by the Jinnah Institute and the Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation.

The participants will express their views on progress in Indo-Pak relations since Mohali and other important gains made for future talks.

A session on terrorism and conflict resolution will identify mechanisms that mitigate the effect of terror attacks on bilateral relations and ways to deal with cross border crimes.

The dialogue will also review the Kashmir issue and the extent to which confidence building measures like trade have been effective in normalising tensions in the region. The Indian delegation is led by CDR Executive Director Sushobha Barve while the Pakistani representatives include Sherry Rehman among others.
