The day is observed globally on December 10, since the adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in 1948. This day reminds all nations of the world to adhere to protecting inviolable human rights and preserve human values.
Pakistan is fully cognisant of its regional and international commitments internationally and implementing Human Rights related Conventions in letter and spirit, said a news release issued here on Saturday.
The HR ministry festival is aimed to create awareness in general masses on Human Rights. Awareness programmes and colourful items for competition and recreation for children and youth have been scheduled for the moot while cultural performances along with puppet show and music are also part of the activity.
Government and non-government organisations have also been given the opportunity to take part in the festival on the areas of their interest.
The festival will help government and civil society organisations to interact with general public, educate them to protect their human rights legally and sort out area which needed attention to improve HR situation in the country.
