PESHAWAR: The local government representatives from Peshawar have filed writ petition in the Peshawar High Court against the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government for ignoring them in development funds.

The petitioners from provincial capital’s area that falls under national assembly constituency NA-3 alleged that the PTI-led government has given the authority of an electrification projects to its unelected leader Noor Alam Khan under a plan of pre-poll rigging for affecting the next general elections.

“The act of the respondents is patently illegal, unlawful and against the law and rules governing the subject matter,” said Arbaz Khan, an LG member from the constituency who has filed the petition in PHC through his lawyer Imran Hashtnagar.

The petition says that the provincial government in provincial annual development programme (ADP) approved Rs240 million for the electrification schemes in the NA-3 constituency.
