Religious parties organised protests and demonstrations on Friday condemning United States of America (USA) President Donald Trump’s acknowledgment of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Demonstrations were organised by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.

Most of these demonstrations were held at mosques after Friday prayers in different parts of the city. “The US government has suppressed the innocent and they want to continue the same policy with all Muslim countries,” said Hafiz Naeemur Rehman of JI while addressing a crowd. He announced marches against the move and appealed to the Muslim countries to join hands against Israel and its main supporter, USA.

Qari Usman of JUI-F said that they would set aside all differences and be ready to sacrifice their lives for the cause of Baitul Muqaddas. Women and children also took part in the protests in Federal B Area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Saddar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, Landhi, Orangi, Keamari and Korangi areas.
