Authorities in Frontier Region Bannu have imposed a ban on motorcycle riding for a month due to security concerns.
The ban has been imposed according to Section 144 (6) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), Express News reported.
Assistant political agent Muhammad Ashfaq said the ban was put in place following an attack in Mir Ali, a town in North Waziristan, in which at least six people were killed.
“Those found in violation of the ban will face severe circumstances,” he said.
A military vehicle was carrying three potential recruits when it was targeted earlier this week. The improvised explosive device was fitted to a motorcycle parked at a roadside. It was remotely detonated when the military vehicle drove past.
