KARACHI: A judicial magistrate declined on Thursday the request for police remand of the three cousins and security guard of Khawar Burney, the prime suspect in the Zafir Zuberi murder case.

Khawar's cousins, Hasan Hussain Burney, Haider Hussain Burney and Raza Hussain Burney, and his security guard, Abdul Rehman, have been nominated in the FIR.

The investigation officer requested the court for physical remand of the suspects alleging that Zafir's murder was executed by a group. However, the defence lawyer argued that the accused were underage and giving them in police remand was unjustified as per the judicial policy of the country.

Dismissing the plea for physical remand, the court sent all three cousins and the security guard to jail, ordering them to be presented before the court on December 18.

In the meantime, Zafir's father Fahim Zuberi has declared that he will not forgive the murderers and will keep pursuing the case till the justice was served.

"They killed my son mercilessly. Will not forgive the murderers," the father said, adding that the case did not concern just his son but concerned the lives of all youths who could become victims of influential persons who thought they were above the law.
