Country head for Pakistan and Bangladesh says it is keen to invest in solar energy

LAHORE: Punjab is proving to be an ideal destination for investment owing to its vibrant middle class and workforce, said ib vogt GmbH (Germany) Country Head for Pakistan and Bangladesh Hannes Huckebrink.

During his visit to the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), he said that the provincial government is taking active measures to boost investment and create an environment conducive to it.

Ib vogt GmbH is a German firm that specialises in solar project development since 2002 and due to years of experience, it excels in maximising clean energy potential.

Turkish firms plan more investment in Punjab

Ib vogt Gmbh has been interacting with the Punjab government since 2015, and they have expressed interest in investing in solar energy in the province. Also speaking on the occasion, PBIT CEO Jahanzeb Burana welcomed Huckebrink, and engaged in a detailed and thorough discussion relating to the current and new potential projects with the investor. The discussion focused around investing into renewable energy sector of Punjab and required facilitation from PBIT in this regard.

Huckebrink shared the status of their project regarding installation of mid-size grid solar plants in Punjab. He also highlighted that due to transparency in solar power projects and an excellent environment, Punjab is proving to be an ideal destination to invest.

He valued PBIT’s role in facilitating investors and intended to invest in Punjab to be a part of Pakistan’s rising growth story.

Burana assured of active participation in supporting, facilitating and expediting to complete their investment project and providing any possible assistance. He stated that this investment will be a key milestone in enhancing collaboration between Germany and Pakistan.
