ABBOTTABAD: Police in Mansehra recovered 36 bottles of imported liquor from the house of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Haji Ibrar Hussain Bala.

Haji Saheb, as he is popularly known for having performed the sacred ritual of Hajj, was not present at his home, police said, therefore they locked up his servant Miskeen Ali on charges of liquor possession.

Though it was unlikely that the butler did it, the police were out looking for MPA Bala for storing smuggled liquor.

According to Mirpur DSP Amjad Hussein, police along with sleuths of intelligence agencies conducted a raid on Bala’s house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The QWP leader and former minister for forests was not present at his home, DSP Hussein said adding, “the only person present in the house, a servant by the name of Miskeen Ali, was immediately taken into custody and shifted to Mirpur Police Station along with the seized liquor.”
