Woman gets death penalty, life term for acid attack

A case was registered against Shameera in 2016 for throwing acid on 23-year-old Sadaqat Ali resulting in his death

MULTAN: An anti-terrorism court awarded death penalty and life imprisonment to a woman convicted in murder case in Multan on Wednesday. Judge Malik Khalid Mahmood announced the verdict. The judgment stated that convict Shameera, 29, will be executed twice along with life imprisonment.

Woman awarded 14-year imprisonment in acid attack case

A police official said that a case was registered against Shameera at Makhdoom Rasheed police station in 2016 for throwing acid on 23-year-old Sadaqat Ali which resulted in his death. He added that Shameera was forcing Sadaqat to marry her but he turned down her proposal. In sheer frustration, Shameera called Sadaqat at her home and threw acid on him, the official said.
