LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – Qauid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhary Zaheeruddin refuted  Musharraf's statement on Wednesday saying that Pervaiz Elahi did not order the Punjab Police to conduct the Lal Masjid operation.

He pointed out that the Punjab Police is not allowed to operate in the federal capital as Islamabad comes under the jurisdiction of the federal government.

Talking to media in Lahore, Zaheeruddin said that the central government is responsible for maintaining law and order in the federal capital not the Punjab police.

He added that the police and other law enforcement agencies follow the directives of the federal government to maintain peace in Islamabad.

Musharraf took decision in the interst of people and Pakistan, but we the people are always guided by ram emotionalism.
