LAHORE: A family court on Tuesday dismissed two applications filed by a man claiming to be the husband of film actor Meera and disputing her suit for jactitation of marriage.

Judge Masood Akhtar Kiyani dismissed Attiqur Rehman’s pleas that a test be carried out to ascertain if the actor was a virgin, and that it be determined who owned the house that she was living in.

Rehman claimed that the house belonged to him. The main case will resume on May 28, when Meera’s father and mother are to testify.

The actor says that Rehman is trying to gain publicity and the pictures and marriage certificate he produced in court are fake.
