A child was killed and another injured in an explosion in Christian Colony in Chaman, Balochistan on Friday.

Police said the bomb was planted near the gates of the colony.

The child killed in the blast has been identified as Lucky Saleem. The injured child, Vishal Vikram, was admitted to a hospital.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Khan Zehri expressed his sorrow over the attack. He directed the law enforcement agencies to make efforts for the immediate arrest of the culprits. He also ordered increased security in Chaman and its surrounding areas.

Bomber strikes at Chaman border

In September this year, a teenager was killed and nearly two dozen people were injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive belt in Chaman.

The bomber struck in a parking area near the Friendship Gate where commuters and drivers of Nato container trucks were waiting for verification of their documents.

In July, Chaman DPO SSP Sajid Khan Mohmand was martyred in a suicide attack at the Eidgah Chowk area.

At least 10 people were also injured when a bike-riding suicide bomber targeted the convoy of the senior police officer.
