KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) appointed on Wednesday MPA Saeed Ghani as its Karachi division president. The post was left vacant after the recent resignation of Dr Asim Hussain.

According to the Bilawal House spokesperson, the decision was made after a meeting of the Karachi division chaired by PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “The meeting briefed the chairperson about the political and organisational situation in Karachi division and the development pace in the city being carried out by the Sindh government,” said the spokesperson.

“After that Bilawal nominated MPA Ghani as president and MPA Javed Nagori as general secretary of the Karachi division,” he said. Speaking to the media, Ghani who recently won the by-election from Mehmoodabad, defeating the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates, said that he and his team will work at gross-root level in Karachi to win maximum seats in the upcoming general election.
