Two killed, three injured in firing at Islamabad Imambargah
The injured men were admitted to the Pims Hospital, where two of them are in a critical condition
Two people were killed and three others were injured when unidentified men opened fire in front of Babul Ilm Imambargah in Islamabad’s I-8 Markaz on Wednesday.
Initial reports suggest that the deceased, identified as Syed Hubdar Hussain Shah, 52, was a constable of the Intelligence Bureau.
Assailants hurl grenade at imambargah
Police said two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on a group of people, who were leaving the imambargah after offering Maghrabain prayers.
The injured men, Inayat, 62, Ain Zaidi, 73, and Nadeem Hussain, 42, were admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).
Pims administrator Dr Altaf told The Express Tribune that two of the injured men were in a critical condition. They all suffered bullet wounds.
The police have registered an FIR against the unidentified attackers.
Police sources said a Kalashnikov was used in the attack.
