WhatsApp has finally rolled out a new feature that lets you play YouTube videos without leaving your chat window.
Previously, when someone would share a link to a YouTube video, it would immediately redirect them either to the YouTube app or the browser.
The update certainly helps in terms convenience as you no longer have to go back and forth switching between apps to watch videos.
Referred to as “picture-in-picture” feature, the update will hopefully stop the autoplay hole as well, Mashable reports.
WhatsApp’s new updates have again proven beneficial with the messenger previously launching live location updates that let users track others in real-time along with an update that let users delete sent messages.
This feature is only for the iOS users at the moment and will soon be launching for Android versions as well.
Along with this also comes the news that the Facebook-owned messaging service will now be allowing users to send longer voice notes with the option to record without keeping the tab pressed.
Simply “swipe up to lock recording so you can continue to record without keeping your finger down,” according to the description laid out.
