The students of all departments, including women, boycotted their classes. Holding banners in hands they staged a sit-in outside vice chancellor office. They warned the administration to continue their sit it till the fulfilment of their demands.
The protest proved an opportunity to push for other demands too. The students were seen demanding hostel accommodation, scholarships and inquiry into irregularities in funds the government provides for providing various facilities to the students. They also demanded to restart grant for MS and PhD students for research activates and provide security to the students in hostels and in departments.
The students also demanded to allow students election and restore BA and MA programme in university, which have been replaced by BS and MS. UoP Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Khan called a meeting with students but it failed without any conclusion. Talking to The Express Tribune UoP Public Relation Officer Rafiullah Khan said that the VC ensured the students that all their demands would be fulfilled except increase in fee.
